Nuenen: This windmill was built and commissioned during the period that Vincent was living and working in Nuenen. Two months before Vincent arrived in Nuenen the main shell of the mill collapsed during construction, killing a person. The so-called mound mill came into service in August 1884. In 1887 the mill was also equipped as an oil mill so that more than just grain could be milled. Vincent drew the windmill among the corn fields seven times.
