Zundert: The cemetery still contains the grave of Vincent's oldest brother who was born dead. This was exactly one year before the birth of Vincent himself. He wrote about this grave only once, in a letter to his former superior Tersteeg, upon the death of his daughter. Emotionally, that grave had little meaning for Vincent. For him, the cemetery was rather one of the places where he played as a child and where he enjoyed the silence. Next to the cemetery are the old Kostershuis and a guest studio that regularly hosts contemporary art exhibitions.
