The Vincent van GoghHuis is a living art center - not a classical museum, but an active world of experience, for both art lover and tourist. With a stimulating presentation on the life and work of Vincent van Gogh and interactive education.
The permanent presentation 'Vincent van Gogh - The roots of a master' stands alone, but also serves as a prelude to the temporary exhibitions. The program of those exhibitions focuses on 20th and 21st century artists who were or are inspired by the work and/or life of Vincent van Gogh.
Recent acquisitions from the museum's collection reveal that Van Gogh is still a current source of inspiration for contemporary artists.
On display are works by artists who have worked in the guest studio next to the Van Gogh Church and studio De Moeren. Here they create new work inspired by Van Gogh's native village and the surrounding natural areas.

The former verger's house houses a gallery where work by the artists who have worked as artist-in-residence in Zundert is displayed and sold.

Now, anno 2023, the sexton's house, purchased by the Dutch Reformed Church at the suggestion of Vincent's father, displays and sells work by the artists who worked as artists-in-residence in Zundert.
Vincent van Gogh's father was a pastor and preached in the Dutch Reformed Church, a few meters next to the house where the family lived. You will also find the grave of Vincent's stillborn brother on this spot.
On the occasion of Vincent's 100th birthday, world-renowned sculptor Ossip Zadkine designs a bronze statue of Vincent and his brother Theo in intimate entanglement. Queen Juliana attended the unveiling of this monument.
One of the natural areas in which Vincent van Gogh often walked is De Moeren. Given its close association with the Dutch Reformed Church, it is likely that Pastor Van Gogh and his family visited the estate.
South of De Moeren is Wallsteijn estate. The white-plastered villa was built in the nineteenth century by order of Frederik van de Wall, mayor of Zundert. His son Louis van de Wall, in addition to being mayor, was for many years church warden of the Dutch Reformed Church in Zundert.
Vincent cherished warm feelings for his aunts who lived next door to the rectory, Vincent's birthplace. This house has been completely renovated, but the side wall of the property is still in its old condition.
