Etten-Leur: Vincent looked for his models close to home. These included Piet Kaufmann, his father's gardener, and Lambregt Oostrijck, the deacon of the Reformed church. The Protestant farmer Cornelis Schuitemakers, who lived on the Heike and received poor money from Vincent's father, was the model for the drawing Worn out, among others. A map Vincent drew with his little brother Cor shows where he found his models. The Claes family lived in the sexton's house at the time (On the map Klaas).
