Lieshout: During his stay in Nuenen, Vincent regularly went out to see a large heath fire with a young boy from Nuenen and he drew and painted in the surrounding area with his friend from Eindhoven, Antoon Kerssemakers. Vincent also immortalized De Vogelenzang, an old mill from 1819. We recognize the mill on two drawings. In 1988, the same mill was also discovered on the X-ray of a flower still life. Vincent painted a vase of daffodils over the mill.
