Nuenens Broek is located northwest of Nuenen, near Lissevoort. Vincent van Gogh walked here regularly.
In spring the Nuenens Broek is perhaps at its most beautiful. Then spearweed, wood anemone and cuckoo flower bloom. But, also in the rest of the year this area is worthwhile. For example, goldfinches in winter. and, of course, the beautiful colors in autumn.
Walking among the fast-growing poplars
It is a wet area, created by numerous floods of the Dommel River. Due to ever new supply of rich water, it has become a nutrient-rich area. With fast-growing poplars and a rich undergrowth of hazel and cherry as a result. Vincent van Gogh drew here (1883 - 1885) and regional singer Gerard van Maasakkers keeps fond memories of the Nuenen Broek. He wrote 'Hee gaode mee', still one of his best-known songs. Meanwhile, Brabants Landschap is working hard to make the area even more beautiful. Now the Dommel Valley still consists of a lot of separate areas. Together with Waterschap De Dommel they are trying to connect the areas with each other by buying connecting zones in between.
Due to its peaceful small scale, suitable for a relaxing day out in nature.
You can park on the Lissevoort in Nuenen.
