Van Gogh-Roosegaarde bike path

In Eindhoven, just outside Nuenen, there is a unique bike path inspired by The Starry Night by master painter Vincent Van Gogh. The bike path is freely accessible to everyone. Visitors will be surprised at dusk by a design of light and color inspired by the world-famous work The Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh. A magical experience.

Techno-poetry
Heijmans developed an innovative technology especially for the bike path with artist Daan Roosegaarde in which the path is illuminated by thousands of sparkling pebbles. This creates a play of light and poetry. Roosegaarde: "I want to create a place that people experience as special, technology linked to experience, that's what techno-poetry stands for for me."

Bike path in Vincent's Homeland
The bike path is part of the Van Gogh bike route that connects Vincent van Gogh's heritage sites in Brabant, Vincent's Homeland. The world-famous painter created his first masterpiece The Potato Eaters in Nuenen and also captured the Opwetten Watermill and the Colse watermill in his paintings. Between those two mills lies the unique bike path, thus bridging the gap between contemporary design, innovation, cultural heritage and tourism in Brabant.

Location and accessibility
The bike path is located in the eastern part of Eindhoven, between the Opwettense Watermolen in Nuenen and the Collse Watermolen in Eindhoven. Car: parking available at the carpool location at the intersection of Wolvendijk and A270. Public transport: bus line 6 from Eindhoven Station. Get off at stop Koudenhoven, then walk 600 meters.
