You pass the Bisschopsmolen in Etten-Leur on both the Van Gogh Cycle Route Etten-Leur North and South. It is a gem where tours are also given regularly.
The Bisschopsmolen is a tower mill in Etten-Leur on the Bisschopsmolenstraat. The mill had the function of a corn mill until 1959.
The Bisschopsmolen, built in 1744 on the site where a previous mill had been destroyed by fire, belonged to the bishop of Antwerp until about 1800, hence its name. On the east side one can still find the bishop's coat of arms. In 1990, the Bisschopsmolen was restored internally and externally. The Bisschopsmolen stands - quite appropriately - in the Bisschopsmolenstraat in the southern part of the built-up area.
In 1959, the municipality of Etten and Leur became the owner of the mill. The mill is still millable after a number of restorations.
The Bishop's Mill is open to the public on certain days. At those times, flags/flags fly on the mill. This happens occasionally on Fridays or Saturdays. The mill is always open anyway during the West Brabant Mills Day (always at the end of March) and during National Mills Day (usually second weekend in May).
