In Van Gogh Village Museum you will hear about Van Gogh and read his own stories about Nuenen, where he lived and worked from 1883 to 1885. Who was he, how did he live, who did he associate with? How did The potato eaters come into being? Unique is Vincents Lichtlab: discover color and light, as Vincent experimented in his works. It all becomes clear during a visit to the museum. An audio tour, in 8 languages, is available.

In the village itself, a total of no less than 24 locations recall Van Gogh. Together they form a walking and cycling route equipped with interactive information boards in Dutch and English.

From The Potato Eaters to The Starry Night
The Potato Eaters is based on a scene Van Gogh encountered at the home of a farming family in Nuenen. The designer Daan Roosegaarde, based on Van Gogh's The Starry Night, designed the now famous and unique Van Gogh-Roosegaarde bike path, which incorporates thousands of sparkling stones in the asphalt. This bike path, between Nuenen and nearby Eindhoven, is part of the Van Gogh Cycle Route.
