In all, Vincent painted five large canvases of sunflowers in a vase, with three shades of yellow "and nothing else. Thus he showed that it was possible to create a picture with many variations of one color.
Therefore, starting Sept. 28, our museum will feature a temporary exhibition on sunflowers.
Sunflowers. Otherwise Nothing.
Vincent's sunflowers are an enduring inspiration for contemporary artists. This exhibition "Sunflowers, Otherwise Nothing" features several paintings, and more, by six artists that reference Van Gogh's famous painting "Sunflowers.
This new temporary exhibition is on view from Sept. 28, 2024 through Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025
