Big Sow & Seed Party at Un Bietje Groen

The week before National Seed Day on April 22, the gardens at Un Bietje Groen will open, the sunflower will be put in the spotlight and flower seeds will be distributed to cool Tilburgers. Everyone is invited to work with (flower) seeds and cuttings this afternoon at Un Bietje Groen.

Sowing sunflowers

2024 has been declared the "Year of the Sunflower" at Van Gogh National Park. People can join the Verderland Sunflower Sowing Club and get sunflower seeds, make and fill recycle seed trays to grow the flowers large at home. During the Harvest Festival on Oct. 13, bird snacks and ladybugs will be made from them.

There were quite a few seeds harvested last year that can be shared. It is also an invitation to people who would like to exchange or drop off seeds for others.

Feed the bee with Guerrilla Gardening
Wandering Tilburgers who see spots that could be brightened up can pick up a hefty bag of flower seeds to do so at the Worm Garden. For children and creative visitors, there are several activities that can contribute to brightening or greening up your surroundings: from making seed bombs to sharing vegetable garden seeds.

Plant and cutting market
With so many gardeners, it is only natural that there will also be lots of plants and cuttings. From eco-friendly to organic, from annual flowers to perennials.
From strawberry plants to Yacon tubers.

The inner man
Of course, the inner man is not forgottenand different kinds of tasty elements are available: from oyster mushroom croquettes to delicious organic crepes and fresh bean coffee. In good weather, there is vegan ice cream and a glass of something or other is also available:)
