The hotelier of the renowned Hotel Riche in the heart of Boxmeer even decided to furnish a room entirely as if it were the room in the Yellow House of French Arles. An artist was commissioned to create a genuine Boxmeer Van Gogh bed based on the examples of Vincent himself. Also, the hotel room is decorated as an exact copy of the painting: with the same colors, even the paintings and chair and sink are not missing. Hotel Riche and its restaurant also offer an attractive Van Gogh package for people who have something to celebrate together.
A special feature of the Boxmeer offering is its collaboration with the Van Gogh museums in Brabant and beyond. Visitors can follow the painter's life journey throughout the province of North Brabant. From his birthplace and early years in West Brabant's Zundert, the Van Gogh Church in Etten, through his apprenticeship in Tilburg and his "becoming an artist" years in Nuenen. Now that his room is furnished here Boxmeer also joins as a memorial place of his soul's struggle in the Arlese bed. From Boxmeer, the Kröller Müller in the Veluwe is not far away. The North Brabant Museum and Van Gogh Village Nuenen can be reached within an hour.
