Nominated for architecture award

Our new building is special and the jury of the prestigious architecture award the Dezeen Awards saw that too.

The building blends into the historic ribbon development and is inspired by the long-roofed farmhouse that used to stand on this site. A special element is the large window in the facade of the long-roofed farmhouse, which works like a large living painting inside, overlooking one of the many historic buildings in Nuenen: the vicarage. That's where the family lived Van Gogh. So did Vincent.

The building materials are consistent with the story of Vincent van Gogh told at the museum. The building is built with sustainable materials and sustainable in use. A striking feature is the earth tone that is consistently implemented in walls, steel and ceilings.

The winner of the Dezeen Award will be known in November 2023.
