Special locations temporarily open their doors

During the exhibition "Van Gogh's intimates" at Het Noordbrabants Museum (Sep. 21, 2019 - Jan. 12, 2020), Brabant's Van Gogh heritage sites offer a temporary program around the places and stories of Vincent van Gogh's life in Brabant. From his birth to his first love, the family life of the Van Gogh family and the church: visitors can experience his world up close. Attention will also be paid to the Brabant landscapes and buildings that Vincent captured in his paintings. Some of these are being opened up especially for this occasion.

Birthplace Van Gogh
Three Van Gogh heritage sites, 39 Van Gogh Monuments and 435 kilometers Van Gogh bicycle route form the backdrop for an attractive program on Vincent's life and intimates in the coming months at Brabant. In Zundert, where Vincent's cradle was, this revolves around the Vincent Van GoghHuis. In Etten-Leur, where Van Gogh started his career as an artist, the Van Gogh Kerk takes center stage. Nuenen, where Van Gogh painted his first masterpiece, is packed with exhibitions in and outside the Vincentre.

Doors open
In the coming months, visitors will have the opportunity to discover the most special and hidden Van Gogh locations in Brabant. For example, the doors of the churches in Zundert and Nuenen, where father Van Gogh was pastor, will open for a public program of lectures and tours. At set times, it is also possible to visit, for example, Salon Nune Ville, the home of Vincent's beloved Margot Begemann in Nuenen. Local Van Gogh connoisseurs will tell the stories at the Van Gogh Monuments and other places that are inextricably linked to the master painter and his family, friends and models.

Vincent van GoghHuis Zundert
The Vincent van GoghHuis in Zundert presents the exhibition 'Suze Robertson & Marenne Welten - Next to Van Gogh' from October 12, 2019 to January 26, 2020. Suze Robertson (1855-1922) was a contemporary of Vincent van Gogh. Already during her lifetime she was considered his female counterpart.

Van Gogh Kerk Etten-Leur
Van Gogh Kerk in Etten-Leur brings the photo exhibition 'Closer to Van Gogh' from September 25 to December 22, 2019. Marc Boom (Amsterdam 1968) reproduces famous portraits of Vincent van Gogh in an extraordinary way. Not with a brush, but with his photo camera and with real people in the leading roles.

Vincentre Nuenen
From September 20, 2019 to March 31, 2020, there will be an exhibition with extra attention to Van Gogh's (painter's) friends from his Nuenen period, such as Dimmen Gestel, Antoon Hermans, Anton Kerssemakers and Willem van de Wakker.
