'Vincent's great love' campaign

The Vincent van GoghHuis in Zundert has launched the 'Vincent's great love' campaign. This zooms in on the unmistakable connection between Vincent van Gogh and his native village. The campaign, which is expressed in various projects, was symbolically kicked off with the planting of the first of hundreds of sunflower seeds by Alderman Judith Kuijpers and the unveiling of an impression of a life-size sunflower artwork.

We all know the masterpiece "The Sunflowers" by Van Gogh. Like his contemporaries, Vincent painted floral still lifes. After some experimentation, Van Gogh chose the sunflower, while his colleagues chose more elegant flowers. Vincent actually found these simple flowers interesting and painted them in a variety of forms. The Van GoghHuis uses the sunflower as a symbol of the connection between Van Gogh and Zundert: making the simple interesting. This is reflected in the campaign 'Vincent's great love'.

Bags of sunflower seeds
In cooperation with CLTV Zundert, Vincent van GoghHuis is distributing sunflower seeds to the residents of Vincent's native village. The idea behind this is that in the summer the Zundert gardens will be full of 'Van Gogh's Sunflowers'. The first bag was symbolically planned by Judith Kuijpers. The sachets will be distributed at elementary school in the municipality of Zundert and they will be available from April 13 at the museum store and at the CLTV store.

Life-size sunflowers
Artist Thijs Segers is creating a work of art inspired by the Sunflowers of Van Gogh. The study of this artwork was unveiled during the kickoff event. This study will result in a life-size work of art which will be built two weeks later at the Van GoghHuis. This work of art will be on display until corso (September 3-4).

Children to work as Van Gogh
Children from Zundert are being challenged to step into the footy of Van Gogh and create their own artwork. Assignments will be handed out at Zundert elementary schools for children to work on at home or in the classroom. The works will be displayed at the Yellow House on Saturday, June 24.
