'Emotion research' storytelling
An "emotion study" was launched in early December 2018 at the Vincentre in Nuenen. The research is being conducted as a result of the cooperation between Van Gogh Brabant and CELTH by Breda University of Applied Sciences.
About 30 people have been invited to participate in the so-called Experience Lab, which involves researching the effect of storytelling. While the "test subjects" watch two very different slideshows, their brain activity is measured by electro encephalography (EEG). After the EEG measurement, participants complete a questionnaire about how they experienced the two types of material and what emotions they experienced in the process. Later, another in-depth interview will be conducted in which their "long-term" memories will be questioned. The results of the survey will be included in the planning for future exhibitions in Zundert and Etten-Leur. Studies on the new layout will be conducted here soon as well.
