Mill De Vogelenzang better protected
On Oct. 29, the first heritage behavior code for a Van Gogh Monument in Brabant was signed in Laarbeek. Municipality of Laarbeek is the owner of mill De Vogelenzang and with the code it subscribes to a series of agreements to ensure the protection and preservation of the monumental mill. The mill is a recurring motif in the work of Vincent van Gogh. The world-famous artist recorded De Vogelenzang several times in sketches he made around 1885.
In North Brabant, 39 sites and buildings have been designated as Van Gogh Monument. Owners, municipalities, heritage organizations and the province of North Brabant are working together with Van Gogh Heritage Foundation to preserve these monuments. In time, each monument will be protected with heritage code of conduct.
