Van Gogh Brabant Celebrates Vincent's birthday with new Atlas
Today the first copies of the Atlas van Gogh in Brabant were handed over to Janne Heling on behalf of the family Van Gogh, Emilie Gordenker (Van Gogh Museum) and deputy Stijn Smeulders. This took place in Zundert, at the place where the painter was born 170 years ago. The Atlas describes the 46 Van Gogh Monuments. The Van Gogh Monuments are also the inspiration for a series of digital art objects with which the Van Gogh Sites Foundation is exploring new ways of preserving the heritage and communicating the meaning of Vincent van Gogh to new audiences.
Vincent's life journey charted
The Atlas van Gogh in Brabant takes readers into Vincent van Gogh's time in Brabant past 46 places that were significant to his life and work in the Brabant early 19th century. The Atlas combines data, facts and background on the painter's life, sources of inspiration and relationship with family and friends. The publication is the result of recent research by Van Gogh experts Ron Dirven (Curator Van Gogh Brabant ) and Helewise Berger (Curator Het Noordbrabants Museum) in collaboration with Teio Meedendorp (Van Gogh Museum Amsterdam). The book is published by WBooks and is available from today in Dutch bookstores and at the Van Gogh museum shops in Zundert, Etten-Leur and Nuenen.

Van Gogh Brabant also presented a new initiative today: Fine NFTs, a concept by Emily Cheung, CEO of Appreciator.io. Fine NFTs reaches a young Asian audience for whom European cultural heritage normally remains outside the focus of attention. Appreciator.io (Hong Kong) developed "Fine NFT's Van Gogh Monuments" together with Tomas Concept + Creation and the Van Gogh Sites Foundation (the foundation behind Van Gogh Brabant ). They created unique digital content at a selection Van Gogh Monuments based on a tree leaf of the site. The leaf represents Vincent's birthplace and is a sign of his short artistic life and the influences of nature that would stay with him throughout his career. Unlike regular NFTs, these artworks are also 3D printed.

Later today, the cultural networking event Salon Van Gogh will take place at Landgoed Oud-Herlaer. Together with Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds and Van Gogh National Park, Van Gogh Sites Foundation is calling attention to the fruitful relationship between art and landscape. The Brabant landscape was a lifelong source of inspiration and contemplation for Vincent van Gogh and the partners in Salon van Gogh want to support that quality.
