Glow Sunflowers in Nuenen

Masterpiece

Van Gogh considered the group composition in "The Potato Eaters" his first successful masterpiece. Van Gogh was particularly proud of the correct approach to the color of the "dusty and unpeeled potatoes": dark that is nevertheless color. This fall, the painting is the focus of the exhibition "The Potato Eaters: miss or masterpiece?" at Van Gogh Museum Amsterdam. In Nuenen, where the painting was created, attention will be paid to it with additional programming.

Sunflowers for Van Gogh

Van Gogh Brabant, Van Gogh Village Nuenen and GLOW pay colorful homage to Vincent's masterpiece with the light artwork. From his dark Brabant work to the light explosion of his French period. The light artwork brings both stories together. The sunflowers are placed next to Van Gogh Monument windmill De Roosdonck, overlooking the house where the farmhouse of the de Groot family used to stand. They were the model for his famous masterpiece.
